Their Shadows in Us

Their Shadows in Us was a collaborative social history project developed through a partnership between Tutti and Minda, curated by Melanie Fulton.
Working alongside people with disability, families and long-term staff, the project explored more than a century of Minda's history through interviews, archival research and portraiture. My work focused on the individuals behind the institution, creating portraits that reflected their stories, relationships and lived experiences. Some works were created independently, while others were developed collaboratively with Tutti artists.
The project considered how identity, memory, and community are shaped by shared histories, while acknowledging significant changes in disability culture and support over time.
Supported by Arts SA, the exhibition was presented at Flinders University Art Museum & City Gallery in 2014.
