FACE IT

FACE IT began during a three-month artist residency at Rimbun Dahan in George Town, Malaysia, in 2015.
The project invited strangers to reflect on a simple question: What do you wish you had known when you were younger? Through conversation and portrait drawing, it explored memory, vulnerability and the shared experiences that connect us across cultures and generations.
Participants' responses were recorded alongside their portraits and later shared through social media. The project also expanded into participatory workshops in George Town and Melbourne, where people sat face to face, drawing one another as a way of encouraging presence, attentive looking and genuine human connection.
The project and its findings were presented at the 2016 International RANZCP Congress of Psychiatry in Hong Kong.
