Sarajevo Roses
Sarajevo Roses explores themes of memory, resilience and the lasting imprint of conflict on both people and place.
The work draws inspiration from the memorials known as Sarajevo Roses. During the Siege of Sarajevo, mortar shells left distinctive scars in the city's streets. After the war, many of these scars were filled with red resin, transforming sites of loss into acts of remembrance.
Oil on canvas, 120 x 120 cm.
